A Fantastic Finish to July
It's fun to see July wrapping up strong on the island with exceptional fishing for chinooks, lots of amazing coho action and having the ever consistent bottom fishing improve as well. A big thank you to all of you who fished with us in July, now we're looking forward to welcoming our August groups to the excitement at Langara!
The lighthouse has been producing plenty of nice halibut with the tail end of the flood tide seeming to be prime time. This upcoming week has favourable lighter winds from the south, perfect for a trip to the bountiful westside. The orcas were a bit more elusive this week, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. They were spotted several times out in deep water, making their laps of Langara.
Old friends back for a visit
A record holder returns
John was at Island Lodge on our opening trip and has made countless visits to fish with us over the years. For many seasons he carried the lodge record, a giant 71 pound chinook salmon he landed with guide Rocket Ron in Boulder Bay. An honour to have you and your family at Island Lodge again this year, we'll look forward to many more.
