The first week of the 2023 Langara Island Lodge season was as good as we could have ever asked for! A week of spectacular fishing was enjoyed by all, along with near perfect weather. A well deserved treat for our early season guests.

Week One at Langara Island was the perfect start to our 28th season of operation. The salmon fishing was consistent island wide, with action-packed chinook salmon fishing along the Langara and Graham island shorelines.

The weather cooperated perfectly as well, with light winds and lots of sunshine. Early risers have been treated to some gorgeous 5 AM sunrises. If you're not keen on that early of a wakeup, there's a photo below of the sky over Langara Island Lodge's dock this morning.

Salmon fishing is off to a hot start, something we're always pleased to see as we begin the season and explore our favourite areas. Solid numbers of chinook salmon have been found at all points.

The calm waters of Langara's eastern shoreline at Andrew's Point and Cohoe Point have been the two hotspots, with consistent numbers of fish in the 10-15 pound range. There have also been some bigger chinooks this trip, along with a handful of tyees, coming from Bruin Bay & Channel Reef.
