August Finale at Langara
Hard to believe we're in the third week of August with only 10 days left in our 2024 season. The past few days have had a mix of weather and fishing. Over the weekend, the longstanding northwest winds turned to southerly, bringing with it the first rain we've had in two weeks. The fishing has remained very good, especially for chinooks along the eastern shores of Langara Island.
The plentiful coho fishing we've enjoyed has slowed, and we'll be waiting on the next push of fish to our offshore waters soon. Cohoe and Andrew's have been our go-to spots this week, with incredible amounts of bait and plenty of mature chinook salmon. A great way to finish a spectacular month!

Big Fish are still here
One of LIL's original guides, Simon Williams, has joined us for the last few weeks of the season, and he hasn't lost his touch. This 40 pounder fell to a cut plug at No Name Point. Alan, on his first trip to Langara, did a fine job getting this one to the boat.
