Breezy Mid August Report
We wouldn't be upset if ol' Aeolus (ruler of the wind) took a hiatus for a few weeks. There have been some blustery days over the northern tip of Haida Gwaii, with limited relief during several tides. The heavy winds have shifted from the southwest to the southeast, creating challenging conditions, yet the fishing remains very good for the most part.
The offshore Jalun area has been the most consistent, with Cohoe and Andrew's points producing a solid mix of chinook and coho salmon. Old haunts like Bruin Bay and Boulder have had some flashy action as well, generally around the tide changes. Here's the latest from mid August at LIL...
