Early July Langara Fishing Report
A strong finish to June as we wrap up our first month of operation at Island Lodge. We've had some great fishing this past week, a few big fish in the mix and some varied weather. Cohoe Point, Boulder Bay and offshore Seath Point have been the late June hotspots.
The bubble feeding humpbacks have been putting on a show all over the east side of Langara and there are plenty of eagles, including one who has been keeping us company on the dock. We're looking forward to an excellent July of salmon fishing at Langara Island and certainly off to a great start!
Boulder Bay
On the Kelp
Rubbing the kelp at Boulder Bay paid off big time for guest Brad and his guide Ryan 'Chop' Lim with this hefty 38 pound tyee. After sizzling a hundred yards of line off the reel, this fish was put in the net and measured 42.5 x 26. For an incredible 25 seasons Chop has been a staple at Island Lodge. His time with us is wrapping up for this year as he heads back to Campbell River to run his charter company Westerly Saltwater Fishing.
