Epic Late August At Langara
Earlier in the week heavy northwest winds made for some trickier fishing but those have subsided and the salmon fishing has picked right up again. NW winds generally bring nice weather and push in schools of fish from the open Pacific. This week has been telling of that, with some incredible fishing the past three days as the winds calmed.
Cohoe and Andrews points continue to produce, with hot snaps of fish. It's pick your tide at either, with very solid fishing on both the ebb and flood tides. Offshore fishing continues to produce the most consistent action for nice sized cohos and chinooks. The offshore Jaulon River area is often where we spend our time in late August and early September and it certainly is not disappointing this season!
Head Guide Sendoff
We'll Miss You Mark!
A fond farewell to our head guide Mark "Basil" McAneely as he heads off for his steelhead season on the Babine River. Mark has put in a long shift, starting at the lodge in April, getting our fleet of boats ready.
Thank you for all the leadership on the dock buddy, your guide crew thinks the world of ya'!
