Late July Langara Report
It has been another busy week at Langara Island Lodge, despite a minor lull in the fishing action. We've had such great fishing this summer but the last few days have slowed a bit for chinooks. Coho fishing has been excellent, as is the bottom fishing off of Langara Island's west side. The outstanding weather has continued as well, with calm seas and no rain. Here is snippet of Island Lodge action from our last week of July. Hard to believe we're already at the end of July, wrapping up another month of great fishing and excellent weather.
Coho fishing has continued to be productive at Seath Point, offshore Andrews Point and the Langara Lighthouse area. Calm seas on the west side have offered ample opportunities to run out and enjoy some of the non-stop bottom fishing that has fired up over the past few weeks. If you're in search of chinooks it is good to be patient, but nice fish have been found throughout the week at Boulder Bay and on the ebb tide at Bruin Bay. Marchand Reef, a stone's throw from the lodge, has continued to be the hotspot for chinooks, especially midway through the flood tide.
