Orcas, Otters and More
Guests of Langara Island Lodge have enjoyed some epic salmon fishing and nice weather this past week. Breezy northwest winds have pushed hungry fish to the eastern shorelines of Graham and Langara islands, with Boulder Bay and Andrew's Point being the hot spots. There has been plenty of wildlife as well, including bubble-feeding humpback whales at the Langara Lighthouse and orcas making their laps of local waters.
If you're lucky, you might get a glimpse of the orcas making laps on the outer shores of Langara Island. Male orcas have taller dorsal fins that can reach up to 6 feet in height, while female dorsal fins are smaller and slightly curved in shape, typically around 3-4 feet tall. There have been plenty of whale sightings this week. June is one of the best months to see orca and humpbacks in Haida Gwaii.

Langara Welcomes Mustang Survival
It's always fun to have photographer Jeremy Koreski visit us at the lodge. This week, Jeremy collaborated with the Mustang Survival crew to capture images of new gear slated for release in 2026. Langara and Mustang have had a long history together, and it was our pleasure to have them here for a visit.
