Langara truly is a magical place. I know it is often said about Haida Gwaii and its surrounding islands, but there is an energy about Langara and its waters that makes it stand out from the rest. Being lucky enough to spend time in this beautiful area inspired me to start taking more photos, and really helped kickstart my journey into photography.

The healthy, thriving coastal environment is so full of life, and the sheer amount of biomass in the region makes for incredible world-class fishing opportunities. Island Lodge is the pinnacle salmon fishing destination on the coast, and there is nothing better than rolling cutplugs by the kelp, knowing there’s a chance you could encounter the biggest fish of your life. Learning from the incredible group of guides at the lodge has been an amazing experience, and the camaraderie and friendships formed there are really what keep me coming back.
